MUM's Mission

Be watchful, stand firm in the faith, act like men, be strong. Let all that you do be done in love.

Man Up Ministries (MUM) is designed to create opportunities for men to serve their families, their church, their community and ultimately the entire world God created. The men in MUM do these good works not because it is required by God, but because their hearts desire to serve and share the love of Christ with others; realizing this is only possible if God leads and directs all they do.

I knew well before the door on my youth ministry assisting closed, God was already working on my heart for something new (can read about that here). Days turned into weeks as I continued to pray to God about what He desired to do with me next...it slowly became apparent He had given me a restless heart that couldn't just fall into the rut of going to church on Sundays and nothing more.

One day I was on my way home from work when Man Up by the 116 Clique came on and it resonated through my entire mind, body and soul all at once. I can remember asking God that day, "Lord, I'm neither worthy or capable of leading a men's outreach ministry but use me for as long as I'm helpful." That was the day Man Up Ministry was born and from there the foundation blocks were put down by God...to this day I will never understand why He saw me fit to play a role in it, but I'll stay as long as he sees fit.

"Lord, here is this puddle of sin called Ty...do with it as you see fit". That's a saying/prayer I try to live by, and will never hide the fact I'm a broken and sinful man and in great need of my Lord and Savior. It's because of this and the fact he forgives me that I desire to show His love to others by offering up myself as a tool for Him. That's really all Man Up Ministry is about, offering up to God our broken and shattered lives to hopefully be of use to the one that promises us eternal life; despite the fact we're guilty of murder.
